The Journey of Gyro King: From Trailer to Houston Favorite
Gyro King began in 2013 with a small food trailer near the Old Spanish Trail Medical Center, built on a dream to bring authentic halal street food to Houston. As demand grew, we upgraded to a food truck, then a converted bus — both powered by passion for quality and care.
In 2016, we opened our first restaurant in South Houston, followed by North Houston in 2018 and Katy in 2019. By 2021, we returned to the Medical Center and expanded to Webster, reaching even more communities.
In 2024, we reinvested in our roots with a fully customized bus to replace the original trailer. And in 2025, we launched our newest food truck on Crabb River Road in Richmond, designed as both a food spot and a local destination.
Today, Gyro King proudly serves Houston with multiple restaurants, trucks, live catering, and pop-up events. From one humble trailer to a citywide brand, our mission remains the same: serve real halal food, stay consistent, and make every customer feel like family.
