Short Brand Story

Gyro King began in 2013 as a small food trailer near Houston’s Medical Center area, earning a loyal following for fresh halal gyros, wraps, and fast friendly service. As demand increased, Gyro King scaled into larger mobile operations and brick-and-mortar restaurants while maintaining high standards and consistency. The brand continues to invest in growth, modern operations, and systems that support expansion into new markets.

Danish Ali — Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Danish Ali is the founder and CEO of Gyro King. He launched the brand in 2013 with a mission to deliver bold, authentic halal street food with consistency, speed, and hospitality. Under his leadership, Gyro King expanded from a single trailer into a multi-location brand serving customers through restaurants, mobile units, online ordering, and catering. Danish leads brand strategy, growth planning, operational performance, and quality standards as the business scales.

Fees Franchisee Will Be Required to Pay

All fees and policies are subject to the final Franchise Agreement and any required disclosure documentation.

A) Ongoing Royalty Fees

● Royalty: 8% of gross sales

 

B) Advertising / Marketing Fees

● Brand Marketing Fund: 3% of gross sales

● Local Store Marketing: +1% of gross sales (additional) — dedicated to local store marketing and promotions

 

C) Technology / Software Fees Gyro King locations use Square POS for register operations and inventory management.

● Base estimate: $50/month per location

● Additional cost may vary by location based on number of employees/users and enabled Square features/modules.

 

D) Renewal or Transfer Fees

● Renewal Fee: TBD (to be defined in agreement)

● Transfer Fee: TBD (to be defined in agreement)

E) Required Training Fee

● Training Program: Included as part of the franchise program (no separate training tuition fee)

● Franchisee should budget for related travel/lodging and payroll coverage during training (see estimates).

 

F) Audit or Inspection Fee Gyro King may conduct operational inspections/audits to protect brand standards.

● Routine support visits may be included as part of franchisor support.

● If follow-up audits/inspections are required due to non-compliance or reporting concerns, franchisee may be responsible for costs. Planning estimate: $500 – $2,500 per incident, depending on scope and travel/time.

 

G) Product or Equipment Purchase Fee

● Spices & sauces: provided at cost (brand-standard items)

● Additional required items may apply based on brand standards (e.g., packaging standards, uniforms, signage/brand materials, and approved vendor requirements).

 

H) Insurance Franchisee must maintain insurance coverage customary for restaurant operations. Final minimum limits and coverages will be specified in the franchise agreement. Typical required coverages may include:

● Commercial General Liability (incl. product liability)

● Workers’ Compensation (as required)

● Commercial Property (equipment/contents; as applicable)

● Business Interruption (often available with property coverage)

● Commercial Auto (if vehicles are used for catering/delivery operations)

● Umbrella/Excess Liability (recommended)

● Employment Practices Liability (recommended) Planning estimate: $6,000 – $18,000 per location per year, depending on store size, payroll, sales volume, and coverage limits.

 

I) Other (Permits / Renewals / Compliance) Franchisee is responsible for obtaining and renewing all required permits and licenses through relevant authorities, which may include:

● Health permits / food establishment permits

● Sales tax permits

● Certificate of occupancy and fire/inspection approvals

● Business registration and local compliance renewals

Estimated Price Ranges (Low–High)

These ranges are planning estimates and vary by site conditions, store format, landlord requirements, and local costs.

A) Equipment and Fixtures

● Estimated range: $70,000 – $95,000 (includes FFE and infrastructure equipment planning range)

 

B) Initial Inventory

● Estimated range: $8,000 – $20,000

 

C) Marketing and Grand Opening

● Estimated range: $5,000 – $25,000

 

D) Training Expenses

Training program is included; franchisee budgets for travel/lodging and payroll coverage.

● Estimated range: $0 – $15,000 E) Working Capital (3 Months)

● Estimated range: $30,000 – $120,000
